Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a privately held, diversified organization in their search for an Accountant to support financial reporting, analysis, job costing, and day-to-day accounting activities across multiple business entities. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical skills, knowledge of GAAP, and experience working with job costs.

What You Will Do:

• Perform job cost accounting, including tracking, analyzing, and reconciling project costs and related financial activity.
• Monitor job costs against budgets, analyze variances, and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
• Support monthly financial close and reporting for multiple companies across various industries.
• Analyze accounts and financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve errors in a timely manner.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial data analysis using Excel.
• Review financial transactions to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and compliance with GAAP.
• Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to financial information requests.
• Recommend appropriate accounting treatment for reserves, assets, expenditures, and other transactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, job costing processes, and workflows.
  

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 2+ years of related accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Job cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
