Job Summary:
Operate Compaction Equipment, perform control plan inspections and meet requirements of die setter classification C-1 level.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Refer to items below for specific duties and requirements at each skill level classification.
- Advancement to higher classification requires that operator is proficient in all skills and requirements for the higher classification, and if needed supported documentation is completed and approved.
- If an operator is no longer able or willing to perform required tasks to maintain classification requirements as part of their daily duties, they will be reevaluated accordingly.
- Advise supervisor immediately of any part, equipment, and process concerns.
- Audit product, process and documentation at presses, machines and furnace areas as required by existing control plans.
- Complete necessary quality and production records (written and electronic).
- Follow all established safety regulations and procedures and work in a safe manner.
- Follow all instructions as provided on process control plans and any reference documents.
- Follow all standard work for autonomous maintenance, perform preventative maintenance items, etc.
- Inspect and/or sort parts as required.
- Learn new gauging/techniques as acquired.
- Notify Die setters when compaction equipment needs adjusted to ensure quality.
- Operate all equipment in assigned press area, including compaction presses, automation, deburring units, conveyors, robotics, sinter furnaces, oil dip tanks, etc.
- Participate in scheduling/prioritizing of work for the assigned work area/ manufacturing cell.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Record keeping (SPC charts, Production reports, Product Routers, etc.).
- Routine cleaning, care of machines, gages, and other equipment used.
Skills Executed: Communication, multi-tasking, ability to understand and follow directions.
Education: High School Graduate / GED
Safety Requirements: When required in specific areas. This includes, but is not limited to safety glasses, with side shields, hearing protection, and gloves.
