This profile outlines the typical duties, responsibilities, and necessary qualifications for a Quality Control Operator focused on operating a high-speed inspection and finishing systemat MPI Label Systems. This role is paramount for delivering zero-defect finished labels.

Position Overview

The QC Inspection Operator is responsible for managing the final quality control process using an advanced, automated inspection platform.

Functional Responsibilities and Tasks

The core functions involve operating highly sophisticated technology, precision rework, and comprehensive quality documentation:

II. High-Speed Rewinder Operation (Multiple Machine options)

  • Machine Setup: Set up, operate, and monitor the**Slitter/Rewinder**. This involves loading master rolls, setting web tension, speed controls, slitting blades, and counter calibration according to job specifications.
  • Rework and Splicing: When the machine stops automatically on an AVT-detected defect, the operator must remove the defective material and execute precise, clean repair splices using approved methods and materials.
  • Finishing: Perform precision slitting into finished rolls, ensuring accurate width, clean edges, and correct core alignment and size as dictated by the job ticket.
  • Counting and Packaging: Accurately count and measure the finished labels, rewinding the roll to the exact specified length, diameter, and core size before staging for shipping.

III. Quality Assurance and Documentation

  • Job Verification: Thoroughly read and interpret job tickets, quality control documents, and customer specifications to confirm the final product matches all order requirements (material, adhesive, size, quantity).
  • Documentation: Accurately record all production data, including run time, waste quantity, finished count, and detailed quality notes.
  • Non-Conforming Product: Immediately identify, segregate, and clearly tag any non-conforming product and notify the supervisor or Quality Manager for final disposition.
