Job description

Full-time| M-F, 8am-4:30pm, Hours and/or days may vary based on business needs| PG11| Weekly earned wage access is an option

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Oversee daily operations of retail store selling specific lines of merchandise such as cigarette/tobacco products, fuel, gift shop, food service, and grocery items with complete accountability for budget, sales, and management of employees, guest service, profitability, and loss prevention. You will report to the Director of Retail Operations of Travel Plazas.

Primary Tasks:

  • Follow pricing policies to ensure profitability of Travel Plaza under the financial directives of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, analyze current market trends, follow promotion plans, predict and plan for market competition, and future change.
  • Ensure inventory levels are property maintained by updating inventory holding levels to increase sales with no outages, maintain budget levels, and ensure completion of and verify all daily paperwork reporting any issues.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate associates.
  • Maintain operations by ensuring compliance of contracts, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing department, operational, and personnel procedures.
  • Train associates in all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), proper ServSafe and Food Handler processes, and Guest Service initiatives (Foundations and AGS classes).
  • Work with other General Managers and Directors to maintain or exceed established standards ensuring consistency at all Travel Plazas.
  • Analyze financial data including store profit and loss statements, product movement, shift analysis, labor management, merchandise, and cash shortage to ensure area sales and profits are maximized.
  • Complete work orders and follow up to oversee maintenance on all equipment, property, fixtures, and repairs. Ensure operational ability of security systems, security procedures and safety procedures.
  • Plan and prepare work schedules to ensure staffing levels to meet the needs of our guests by assigning associates based on sales and required staffing levels.
  • General Managers are to maintain the facility by being interactive and hands-on with all cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree or 2 years directly related experience
  • Willing to work "on call"
  • Computer knowledge to access back office, point-of-sale systems and other related software required
  • Work requires considerable attention to detail and establishing priorities
  • Coaching skills and people management
  • Two (2) years retail/food service management experience with P&L and supervisory responsibility. Applicants with a relevant college degree may be qualified if they have relevant retail/food service position
