About the Role
A unique hybrid role supporting the cadet uniform program at the United States Military Academy at West Point: part production sewing, part logistics. You will operate sewing equipment AND handle material movement using forklifts and a box truck – ideal for someone who likes variety and staying on the move.
What You'll Do
• Operate standard and high-speed sewing machines in support of cadet uniform production
• Operate 6k and 10k forklifts to move materials and equipment
• Drive a Ford F650 box truck (up to 26,000 lbs cargo capacity, or similar) for pickups and deliveries – no CDL required
• Lift and carry items up to 50 lbs without assistance (over 50 lbs with assistance)
• Work both indoors and outdoors, including docks and storage yards, in varying conditions
What You Bring
• 2+ years of combined sewing and/or warehouse/driving experience
• Forklift experience (6k/10k) – current certification a plus; certification support available
• Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record; must pass a written English test and practical driving exam
• Comfortable with physical work and outdoor conditions
• Must be 18 years of age or older (U.S. Government contract requirement)
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Ability to pass a criminal background check for military installation access (valid ID and clean police record within the last 12 months)
• Reliable transportation to West Point, NY
What We Offer
• Hourly pay: $30.00–$33.00 per hour, plus a $2.00/hour driver-role stipend — rate includes the $5.09/hour SCA Health & Welfare benefit, paid directly in your paycheck
• Full-time, 40 hours/week guaranteed minimum, Monday–Friday day shift – no nights, no weekends
• Paid federal holidays and vacation per Service Contract Act requirements
• All PPE and equipment provided
• Anticipated start: August 2026; position runs through September 2026 with option periods extending to May 2027
