Job description
Job Summary
We are seeking a Caregiver (also known as Direct Support Professional or DSP) to join our team. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of adults and seniors with disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting and/or teaching resident how to manage their hygiene needs, light housekeeping and errands, dispensing medication, and other tasks that improve the resident's living environment and standards. The ideal candidate is person-centered, patient, compassionate, and reliable.
Current Needs
Weekends - Day, Swing, and Evening shifts
Limited Weekdays - Day, Swing, Split, and Evening shifts
Responsibilities
- Assist and/or teach resident how to perform their personal hygiene needs and dressing
- Assist with mobility, walking, and physical therapy exercises
- Assist and/or teach resident how to prepare their own meals and snacks
- Assist and/or teach resident light housekeeping activities based on their plan of care
- Dispense medication
- Provide and/or teach resident socialization skills
- Assist and/or teach resident planning for meals, community activities, and in-home activities
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is preferred but not required
- First aid and CPR-certified
- Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and cooking skills
- Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal spills
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Compassionate, respectful, ethical, person-centered
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Must be at least 18 years of age
