Our ideal Field Operations Technician is a critical part of our team and our face to the customer.  Within this role, you will be responsible for providing on-site services and support to our customers by providing outstanding technical and customer service support.  This is a full-time position with daily client on site visits. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Field Operations Technician include but are not limited to:

  • Foster strong client relationships
  • Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Install and configure hardware and software, including PCs, routers, and servers
  • Maintain accurate records of service request, resolutions, and next step
  • Travel to client locations for on-site support and installations
  • Be flexible with working hours, including after-hours support
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information to both    technical and non-technical users
  • On-call coverage

*This position is in Cheshire Connecticut with travel to customer locations

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • AS or Technical Diploma in computer science or a related field OR equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of IT support experience
  • Ability to communicate technical information in simple, easy to understand manner
  • Proven ability to work and resolve customer issues in a timely manner
  • Must live within an hour of the Cheshire office
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs. and perform tasks such as equipment racking, setup, and installation in various client environments
  • Proficiency in the use of tools
  • Travel up to 4 hours a day
  • Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl and work under a workstation

 Preferred

  • BS in IT or related field
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a managed services provider (MSP) environment
  • PSA/Ticketing system experience
  • Familiarity with medical and dental office operations
