Assistant Restaurant Manager
Position Summary

The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a key role in supporting the General Manager with the daily operations of Lucy's. This position helps lead the front-of-house team, oversee the guest experience, support the bar and beverage program, coordinate scheduling and events, and ensure the restaurant operates efficiently and consistently.

Core Responsibilities
Restaurant Operations & Leadership
  • Assist the General Manager with the daily operations of Lucy's
  • Help ensure the restaurant operates efficiently, consistently, and according to Lucy's standards
  • Supervise front-of-house team members and provide support and direction as needed
  • Serve as a leader on the floor and help ensure smooth service throughout each shift
  • Coordinate communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams
  • Support the General Manager in achieving operational, financial, and guest experience goals
  • Help maintain a positive, productive, and team-focused work environment
  • Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, urgency, and genuine hospitality

Guest Experience & Hospitality
  • Create an environment where guests feel genuinely welcomed, cared for, and valued
  • Maintain an excellent guest service mindset throughout all aspects of the operation
  • Gather guest feedback and identify opportunities to improve the dining experience
  • Recommend improvements to menus, service, and overall guest experience
  • Address guest concerns and opportunities with professionalism, empathy, and solution-oriented leadership

Bar & Beverage Program
  • Manage and oversee Lucy's Bar and Beverage Program
  • Help maintain beverage standards, organization, and operational consistency
  • Monitor beverage-related needs, inventory, and equipment
  • Support the execution of beverage initiatives, promotions, and special events
  • Work with leadership to identify opportunities to improve the beverage program and guest experience

Scheduling, Payroll & Labor Management
  • Prepare front-of-house shift schedules based on business needs
  • Assist with managing employee hours according to forecasts and budget
  • Assist in processing front-of-house payroll
  • Calculate and manage tip-out accurately
  • Monitor staffing levels and make adjustments based on business demands
  • Help ensure labor costs remain aligned with operational and budgetary expectations
  • Maintain accurate records related to employee hours, scheduling, and payroll

Events, Promotions & Marketing
  • Create and execute special events and promotions
  • Coordinate communication and marketing efforts related to events and promotions
  • Work collaboratively with leadership and team members to ensure successful event execution
  • Help identify opportunities to increase guest engagement and strengthen the Lucy's brand

Inventory, Vendors & Financial Administration
  • Manage equipment inventory and PAR levels
  • Calculate future equipment needs based on operational demands
  • Manage and properly store vendor contracts and invoices
  • Maintain detailed records of daily, weekly, and monthly costs and revenues
  • Assist with monitoring operational expenses and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency
  • Ensure necessary supplies and equipment are available to support daily operations

Team Development & Onboarding
  • Assist with the proper onboarding of new employees
  • Coordinate training schedules and ensure new team members are prepared for their roles
  • Coordinate ordering and distribution of uniforms
  • Provide ongoing support, coaching, and direction to front-of-house team members
  • Help create an environment where team members feel supported, valued, and encouraged to grow
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and strong communication throughout the team

Safety, Organization & Standards
  • Monitor compliance with safety and hygiene regulations
  • Help ensure the restaurant remains clean, organized, and properly maintained
  • Reinforce company standards, policies, and procedures consistently
  • Identify operational concerns and work with leadership to resolve them
  • Maintain attention to detail across all areas of the restaurant

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Restaurant Assistant Manager or similar hospitality leadership role
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations and guest service
  • Familiarity with restaurant management and operational systems such as Resy, Toast, 7shifts, and Restaurant365
  • Strong mathematical, reporting, and organizational skills
  • Excellent guest service and hospitality mindset
  • Strong communication and team management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to work during restaurant operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • High school diploma required
  • Additional hospitality education or certification is a plus
