Job description

We're looking for Part-Time Assistant Teachers!
Are you passionate about working with young children and creating a warm, supportive learning environment? The Longwood Medical Area Child Care Center (LMACCC) is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Part-Time Assistant Teache rs to join our amazing team!
In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience, support lead teachers, and help foster a positive space where children can learn and grow. If you're eager to make a difference, love working with children, and thrive in a collaborative setting, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
โ€ข Gain valuable hands-on experience by assisting classroom teachers as needed
โ€ข Work a flexible, as-needed schedule (most needed hours: 7:30/8-10 AM and 2;30/3 PM-6 PM). Please note we cannot guarantee a set number of days or hours, although we do our best to provide candidtaes with as many hours as possible
โ€ข Help create a warm, welcoming, and safe environment that supports children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
โ€ข Assist in planning and implementing engaging daily activities and curriculum
โ€ข Build positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow educators
โ€ข Participate in fun center-wide activities (like Pajama Day!) to help create a joyful, connected community
What You'll Need:
โ€ข At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree preferred but not required)
โ€ข Experience working with children in child care, daycare, or preschool settings
โ€ข Strong teamwork skills and a flexible, positive attitude

โ€ข Eager to learn and open to new ideas and teaching approaches
โ€ข Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task effectively
โ€ข Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, lift at least 35 lbs, participate in physical activities, and always maintain full supervision of children
