A Director of Rehab for Long-Term Care is responsible for overseeing the Rehab Department, ensuring high-quality therapy care for residents while maintaining operational efficiency. Their role typically includes:

  • Leadership & Management: Supervising Therapy Teams and staff across multiple centers, fostering professional development, and ensuring company policies are upheld.

  • Quality of Care: Monitoring resident care standards, increased rehab outcomes while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and implementing best practices.

  • Business Strategy: Driving census growth, identifying market trends, and developing strategies to maintain profitability.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Overseeing therapy inspections, ensuring adherence to healthcare laws, and addressing any deficiencies.

  • Financial Oversight: Managing budgets, optimizing resources, and ensuring a strong return on investment.

  • Travel & Engagement: Visiting facilities regularly to provide hands-on leadership, education, guidance and support.

  • Staffing: Ensuring assistance in staffing and staff education across multiple facilities.

This role requires a deep understanding of long-term care operations, strong leadership skills, and the ability to balance business objectives with compassionate resident care. Enhancing interdisciplinary communication skills between Therapy, Nursing, MDS and Administrative staff to achieve the highest level outcomes.
