Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager will ensure all warehouse activities are carried out efficiently and profitably.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the warehouse; schedules and organizes staff to ensure proper staffing of all shifts.
  • Hires and trains new warehouse employees.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of assigned accounts including emails, billing, routing, loading/unloading of vehicles, and customer service.
  • Responsible for overall customer satisfaction. Consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, as well as represent customer needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality.
  • Build rapport with assigned customers, actively seek to understand customers’ requirements, procedures, and goals through consistent verbal contact.
  • Responsible for the supervision and communication between shifts and staff.
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; ensure all security policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure Associates follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Direct the operations of the assigned work team to achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Conduct shift meetings.
  • Create and follow all policies and procedures.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
  • Organize, input, and update relevant data, including the creation of shipping documents, the entering of load receipts and all related functions using both internal and external computer applications to effectively service the customer and maintain up-to-date, accurate transactional records and inventories.
  • Always ensure adherence to customer requirements and organizational standard operating procedures, including, but not limited to, communication, processing of paperwork, billing, and inventory maintenance.
  • Initiate, administer, and assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and associated functions to maintain accurate inventories at all times.
  • Ensure customer issues are dealt with in an effective manner, involving the customer service supervisor and/or operations manager when necessary.
  • Communicate and provide information by relevant methods both internally and externally to assist warehouse operations and customers.
  • File data and perform other routine clerical tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as requested.
QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Technically competent (understand software, hardware, networks, etc.)
  • Motivated, goal oriented, persistent, and a skilled negotiator
  • Have high level of initiative and work well in a team environment.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Able to handle stressful situations, deadlines, and pressures well
  • Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in communicating with staff
  • Must have strong relationship building skills, be able to provide and model leadership behaviors including the ability to defuse conflict.
Education and Experience
  • 5years of warehousing experience with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • High school diploma.
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls, and office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may be in an open cubicle and/or normal office environment as well as working in a warehouse environment.
