Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

A sophisticated New York real estate practice is seeking a mid-level associate to work on complex commercial transactions involving acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financings, development, and leasing. The role is designed for an attorney who wants broader deal exposure and greater ownership rather than being confined to one component of large transactions. You will work directly with partners, developers, investors, lenders, owners, and other sophisticated market participants while taking increasingly significant responsibility for transactions from initial structuring through closing. Compensation ranges from $200,000-$325,000, depending on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Represent developers, investors, owners, lenders, and other clients in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions
  • Handle acquisitions and dispositions from initial due diligence and contract negotiation through closing
  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, joint venture agreements, and related transaction documents
  • Support real estate financing, development, redevelopment, and investment transactions
  • Coordinate due diligence, title, survey, zoning, financing, and other transaction workstreams
  • Communicate directly with clients and take increasing responsibility for managing transactions and negotiations

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York Bar
  • 3–6 years of commercial real estate transactional experience at a law firm
  • Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financings, leasing, joint ventures, or development matters
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and transaction-management skills
  • Experience independently handling meaningful portions of commercial real estate transactions preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions while communicating effectively with clients, counterparties, and senior attorneys

WHAT WE OFFER

A strong platform for real estate attorneys who want to become complete deal lawyers with experience across multiple transaction types. The role combines $200,000-$325,000 in annual compensation with hybrid flexibility, sophisticated New York real estate work, direct client relationships, partner mentorship, and increasing transaction ownership. Associates gain the breadth and commercial judgment needed to eventually lead significant real estate matters independently.
