Job description

We're interviewing now at our Novato, CA facility!  Looking for a client-focused Residential Counselor, who has knowledge of mental health and substance abuse clientele!


We are seeking to fill a Part-Time Residential Counselor position. 


General Summary:


The Residential Counselor fulfills the assigned role as part of the treatment team – to maintain the wellbeing of clients and the integrity of the program. Additionally, the Residential Counselor provides client supervision and staff/unit support as assigned.


Responsibilities:


·      Develop and maintain appropriate professional relationships with clients and staff


·      Supervise U/A testing, reporting and documentation


·      Supports clients emotionally and environmentally for comfort and safety


·      Facilitate outings, and educational sessions


·      Transport clients to meetings and appointments


·      Conduct contraband searches and random room searches


·      Listens, documents, and reports client behavior


·      Maintains confidentiality of clients at all time


·      Provides encouragement, guidance and support to clients and family members


·      Completes required intake paperwork


·      Provides crisis intervention and encourages a healthy residential and working environment


·      Communicates and collaborates with co-workers, clinical staff, and administration in order to deliver the best quality care possible.


·      Other duties as assigned


Requirements:


·       CPR & First Aid certification


·      Current RADT registration or equivalent


·       Valid California Driver's License


·       Must be able to pass Background Check


·       Negative TB Test


·       Must understand therapeutic process, confidentiality laws, professional ethics, fundamentals of addiction, and mental health disabilities and treatment


·       Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays if needed
