Position
Summary:
Linglong Americas is looking for a dedicated individual with strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with all disciplines within the organization and possess at least 5 years of experience as a Replacement Passenger/Light Truck Tire Development Engineer. The position will be responsible for all facets of PCR/LTR tire development and will interact directly with the NA Sales Department and LLC RE Team to ensure that all functional requirements are met.
Essential Functions:
Key tasks that will be performed by the incumbent.
- Develop North American project proposals in conjunction with NA Sales Department and LLC RE Team
- Understand and consider performance attributes such as ride and handling, wet and dry traction, rolling resistance, noise and treadwear in the design of a tire
- Conduct benchmarking programs as required by the business
- Review cured tire dimension drawing and specifications
- Screen test tires to ensure compliance to specification
- Schedule design reviews with management
- Review and approve tread pattern and sidewall mold drawings
- Ensure designs, constructions and compounds meet all agreed upon requirements
- Interact with counterparts internationally to manage projects
- Attend product testing sessions when possible
- Prepare and present reports to management on product proposals and test results
Minimum level of education, knowledge and work experience required to meet the expectations of the position.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or field directly related to the position
- 5 years of experience in PCR/LTR tire development
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Strong communication, analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
- Ability and desire to achieve the desired results set forth by management
- Working knowledge of FEM simulation and latest CAD applications
- Ability to work with cross-functional and international teams
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
