VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE
Buena Park, California | Hybrid
Status: Full-Time, Exempt.
Salary Range: $155,000–$165,000 annually DOE.
Work Location: Hybrid work arrangement with primary office location at the Linden Oaks campus in Buena Park, California. On-site engagement is expected to support leadership, operational, and organizational priorities.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President of Finance serves as the organization’s chief financial leader and a key member of the executive leadership team. This role provides strategic oversight of all financial operations while also supporting operational areas including transportation, facilities, information technology, and risk management.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced finance executive who thrives in both strategic planning and hands-on operational environments and who is passionate about building strong systems that support organizational growth, sustainability, and mission-driven services.
What You’ll Do
Financial Leadership amp; Strategy
  • Lead development and management of the organization’s annual operating budget.
  • Drive long-range financial planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
  • Partner with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and organizational growth.
  • Analyze financial, enrollment, and operational data to support resource allocation and sustainability planning.
Accounting, Compliance amp; Reporting
  • Oversee accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, internal controls, and financial reporting functions.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, grant requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Lead audit preparation and serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits.
  • Oversee financial reporting, disclosures, and funding accountability.
Operational amp; Organizational Leadership
  • Provide leadership oversight for designated operational functions, including transportation, facilities, IT, and risk management.
  • Support operational efficiency, organizational systems development, and long-term infrastructure planning.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, HR, and program leadership to support organizational priorities.
Leadership amp; Executive Partnership
  • Supervise and develop finance and operational team members.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, recommendations, and strategic insights to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO on financial and operational matters.
What You Bring
Experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive finance/accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility required.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of leadership experience overseeing finance, accounting, operations, or related business functions preferred.
  • Experience in education, nonprofit, or government-funded organizations strongly preferred, including familiarity with nonpublic school (NPS) operations, state-funded reimbursement and billing structures, and Regional Center-funded services supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Education amp; Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills amp; Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced analytical, strategic planning, and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial and operational environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and strategic thinking.
