Charleston Birth Place is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our growing team as Clinical Director. This is a full-scope midwifery role with both direct patient care and clinical leadership responsibilities at a modern, freestanding, AABC-accredited birth center in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina.Ā

What You'll DoĀ 
  • Provide full-scope midwifery care including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn care, and well-woman servicesĀ 
  • Attend births in a freestanding birth centerĀ 
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and cover ~2 clinic days/weekĀ 
  • Build trust-based relationships to support continuity of careĀ 
  • Deliver clinical leadership and contribute to quality improvement initiativesĀ 
  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations of the Birth CenterĀ 
  • Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team including CNMs, Birth Assistants, FNPs, nurses, lactation consultants, sonographers, and educatorsĀ 
  • Ensure compliance with CABC standards, regulations, and internal policiesĀ 
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance oversight of clinical staffĀ 
  • Foster relationships with community health partners, including hospitals, physicians, and referral networksĀ 
What We’re Looking ForĀ 
  • Certified Nurse Midwife eligible to practice in South Carolina
  • Minimum 3 years of midwifery experience (preferred)Ā 
  • Proven ability to lead teams, supervise staff, and manage clinical operationsĀ 
  • Current CPR and NRP certificationsĀ 
  • Deep commitment to client-centered, inclusive, and evidence-based careĀ 
  • Birth center or out-of-hospital experience strongly preferredĀ 
  • Experience with CABC/AABC standards is a plusĀ
