 Lead Construction Worker / Working Foreman 

1. Position Summary

The Lead Construction Worker / Working Foreman oversees daily field operations while performing hands‐on construction tasks. This role requires strong technical ability, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. Responsibilities include guiding crews, coordinating with other trades, and ensuring underground utility and general construction work is completed to exact specifications.

2. Core Responsibilities

A. Hands‐On Construction Work

• Oversee excavation, waterline/sewer installation, concrete work, framing, drywall, and general repairs.
• Inspect completed work for compliance with building codes and quality standards.

B. Crew Leadership & Training

• Assign daily tasks based on skill level and project priorities.
• Monitor productivity and maintain alignment with project timelines.

C. Site Planning & Logistics

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical plans.
• Estimate material quantities, place orders, and manage on‐site inventory.
• Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, electricians, plumbers, and other trades.

D. Documentation

• Maintain daily logs, photo documentation, and reports on delays or budget concerns.

E. Civil & Utility Construction Duties

• Safely operate excavators, loaders, and other heavy machinery in tight or utility‐dense areas.
• Direct excavation, grading, shoring, and utility installation activities.

3. Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction or civil utility work.
• Ability to lead crews and maintain high‐quality workmanship.
• Strong understanding of underground utility installation and heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to read plans, coordinate trades, and manage site logistics.
• Commitment to safety, communication, and professional conduct.
