LifeSource is hiring a per diem Youth Educator to deliver and facilitate our Transplantation Science program to local high schools. This role engages students in the science, ethics, and real-world impact of organ donation and transplantation through interactive, hands-on learning. The program supports courses such as science, physiology, anatomy, health, and healthcare careers. The Youth Educator works closely with the Public Education Specialist to ensure high-quality program delivery.
As a per diem Youth Educator, you'll advance our lifesaving mission by performing the following duties:

• Deliver and facilitate the Transplantation Science program in high school classrooms throughout the Greater Twin Cities metro area.
• Provide education on organ, eye and tissue donation to students.
• Build relationships with teachers and identify opportunities to expand the program's reach.
• Engage students in classroom discussions about organ, eye and tissue donation.
• Adapt lessons and activities to meet varying classroom needs, schedules, and learning styles.
• Coordinate with teachers, school administrators and program staff to schedule and deliver programming
• Review and prepare program materials prior to classroom visits
• Facilitate feedback from students and teachers

QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to 5 years of teaching, public education, community outreach, communications or related experience.
• Experience working in a high school educational setting strongly preferred
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
• Must maintain a valid driver license and have reliable personal automobile to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines.
• Knowledge of organ donation and transplantation, anatomy, physiology, or biology preferred
• Effective at establishing rapport and working relationships with diverse groups and personalities both remotely, via phone, email and/or in person.
• Ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible, engaging manner.
• Ability to work independently and travel to multiple school sites
• Proven self-directed, motivated contributor with a strong initiative and ability to function autonomously, establish priorities and work effectively within a team environment.
• Must be organized, efficient, process-oriented, meticulous with details, have excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and propose effective solutions.
• Exhibit thorough understanding of established processes and procedures, including timeliness and dependability, by successful execution of job competencies.
• Demonstrated ability to exhibit a high degree of quality, integrity, and honor confidentiality of appropriate information including, but not limited to, personal team member data, organizational operations or work processes, donor and donor family information, contributor details, any financial information and medical or protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven skilled and competent in using technology-based tools such as personal computers and related software, mobile devices, as appropriate for position.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Able to work weekday hours during the academic school year.
• Variable schedule based on program and school needs.
• Ability to stand and move around a classroom for extended periods.
• Ability to transport teaching materials to school sites. Ability to occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds and carry short distances, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Manage the upkeep and safe storage of digital devices and organ, eye and tissue donation education resources.
• Must be able to travel to classrooms within the service area.

Projected offer rate range: $27.50-33/hr, based on years of relevant experience.
