Key Responsibilities

• Direct and administer personalized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and enhancing muscular function based on individual patient assessments.
• Oversee the implementation of treatment plans by physical therapy assistants, ensuring adherence to best practices and optimizing patient care.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ functional capabilities through clinical assessments, including muscle, nerve, and joint testing.
• Assess the home environment and provide recommendations to improve patients’ independence and quality of life during rehabilitation.
• Deliver physical therapy services as ordered by physicians, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, traction, and other modalities.
• Evaluate and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, consulting with physicians to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
• Engage in regular interdisciplinary team meetings to develop and review personalized care plans that address the full spectrum of patient needs.
• Document patient progress and changes in health status accurately in clinical records, including OASIS assessments and discharge summaries.
• Educate clients and their families on physical therapy processes and the effective use of therapy devices.
• Participate proactively in team discussions regarding patient care strategies and contribute to the agency's overall mission of excellence.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at Lifepoint Therapeutics, you will work with a diverse patient population, including those recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or rehabilitating from injuries. Your expertise will enable you to develop customized therapy plans that cater to each individual’s unique circumstances and rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• A completed Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) program, with a strong GPA.
• An active license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia, with no history of sanctions or board actions.
• A thorough knowledge of manual therapy techniques and proven skills in developing effective exercise programs for varied patient needs.
• Proficient use of EMR software for precise documentation, particularly with systems such as Web PT.
• A commitment to staying current with ongoing advancements in physical therapy methodologies supported by research.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in outpatient rehabilitation settings is highly desirable.
• Experience using advanced treatment techniques and rehabilitation technologies.
• A track record of collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Proven ability to manage caseloads efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care.
