Description: 
The Lathrop R-II School District is accepting applications for a High School Resource Teacher (FTE 0.5) for the 2026-2027 school year. An individual who holds this position is required to:


  • Possess and maintain a Special Education Teaching Certificate from the State of Missouri.
  • Demonstrate appropriate preparation for instruction.
  • Choose and implement appropriate methodology and varied instructional strategies that address the diversity of the learners.
  • Provide continuous feedback to students and families.
  • Communicate appropriately with students, parents, community and staff.
  • Use various ongoing assessments to monitor the effectiveness of instruction.
  • Align the assessments with the goals, objectives and instructional strategies of the district curriculum guides and/or IEPs.
  • Use assessment techniques that are appropriate to the varied characteristics and developmental needs of students.
  • Engage in professional development activities consistent with the goals and objectives of the building, district and state.
  • Participate in building, grade level and subject area committees.
  • Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested.
  • Create a positive learning environment.
  • Effectively manage student behaviors.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment within the school setting.
  • Maintain accurate student records including attendance, grades and discipline.
  • Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all the policies, procedures and regulations of the building and district.
  • Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination and harassments as directed by Board policy.
