Licensed Mechanic – Up to $45 per hour plus a $2,000 Hiring Bonus!

Job Summary

Leuschen Transportation is currently hiring licensed 310T Mechanics and apprentices to join our team in Sudbury. Reporting to the Shop Foreman, the Mechanics and apprentices are responsible for the preventative maintenance and day-to-day repairs of a large fleet of commercial vehicles. Your role includes diagnosing and performing all repairs, ensuring our vehicles meet exacting safety standards. Successful candidates will provide excellent internal customer service while interacting with various stakeholders including, School Bus Drivers, Dispatchers, Managers, Peer Mechanics, Apprentices and Governmental Agencies.

Job Duties

• Perform Brake and Safety Inspections, carry out preventative maintenance
• Ensure all vehicle inspections are completed in a timely fashion each month
• Perform service calls and cold starts as required
• Ensure you have knowledge of our safety policies and adhere to them
• Adhere to all relevant regulations from a Company, Federal, Provincial and Local perspective
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain in good standing a 310T License, or be enrolled in the 310T apprenticeship program
• Valid Driver’s License
• Thorough working knowledge of Municipal, Provincial and Federal safety provisions
• Practical experience in preventative maintenance practices in particular within the School Bus industry an asset
• Ability to work in a team-based, collaborative work environment
