Legacy Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking dependable, professional, and student-focused Substitute Teachers for immediate short-term, daily, and long-term assignments with our partner schools throughout Jacksonville, Florida.

The majority of available assignments are located in North Jacksonville.

Substitute Teachers provide instructional and classroom support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Candidates must be flexible, dependable, comfortable working with students, and committed to maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.

We have opportunities ranging from daily/on-call assignments to long-term classroom placements.

Availability Requirements

Be available for on-call morning assignments when schools have same-day staffing needs.

Be willing to accept assignments on Mondays and Fridays, which are peak-demand days.

Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance.

Be flexible regarding school locations and grade-level assignments.

Be available for either short-term/daily assignments or extended long-term placements based on interest and availability.

Reliable Monday and Friday availability is especially important for this position.

Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the classroom teacher or school administration.

Provide appropriate classroom instruction and supervision.

Maintain an organized, safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment.

Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies.

Take and accurately report student attendance.

Assist students with assignments and classroom activities.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Follow all school safety, security, and student supervision procedures.

Communicate effectively with school administrators and Legacy Solutions.

Arrive on time and remain for the full scheduled assignment.

For long-term assignments, provide instructional continuity, maintain student records as required, and fulfill additional classroom responsibilities assigned by school administration.

Minimum Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent at minimum; college coursework or a degree is preferred for certain assignments.

Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrate professionalism and the ability to work effectively with children and adolescents.

Have reliable transportation to assigned school locations.

Have reliable access to a telephone and be able to respond to morning assignment notifications.

Successfully complete all required onboarding and compliance requirements.

All candidates must successfully pass required background screening and Level 2 fingerprinting before being cleared for placement.

Employment and assignment eligibility are contingent upon successful completion of all applicable background screening, fingerprinting, and school-specific compliance requirements.

Previous teaching, substitute teaching, paraprofessional, tutoring, mentoring, youth development, childcare, or other education-related experience is preferred but not required for all assignments.
