Job Summary: ย
The Nurturing Parenting Supervisor provides leadership and oversight for the Nurturing Parenting Program, supervising staff, and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based services for families involved with the Department of Child Safety. This role supports program compliance, staff development, and service delivery that strengthens family protective factors, promotes child safety, and upholds trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices.ย
Responsibilities:ย
- Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support to Nurturing Parent Practitioners (NPPs) and Supervised Visitation Specialists (SVS) to ensure quality service delivery and adherence to program standards andย NPPย philosophy tenetsย and NPP valuesย
- Provide coaching, skill development, and constructive feedback to staff using real case scenariosย
- Conduct weekly individual and/or group supervision meetings that promote critical thinking and program fidelityย
- Oversee the delivery of evidence-based parent skill-building services individualized to family needs, culture, and readiness for changeย
- Ensure services strengthen family protective factors, enhance caregiver capacities, and support child safety in the homeย
- Work cooperatively with the Department of Child Safety (DCS) to develop assessments, service plans, required reports, and attend meetingsย
- Oversee the establishment, accuracy, and maintenance of confidential client case recordsย
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all case activity including communication, visitation, skill sessions, missed appointments, and interactions with DCS, placements, and related partiesย
- Audit, monitor, and report on contract compliance and program performanceย
- Document and submit required reports including progress notes, statistics, daily activity logs, incident reports, and special concernsย
- Monitor and complete monthly billing invoices for Nurturing Parenting and Supervised Visitation servicesย
- Develop caring, supportive, strength-based, culturally competent, and trauma-informed relationships with clients, staff, and community partnersย
- Maintain professional working relationships that positively represent the organizationย
- Attend meetings, trainings, and special projects as requested by managementย
- Assist with maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and organization of program facilities and equipmentย
Qualifications:ย
Education:ย
- Bachelor's degree inย humanย servicesย fieldย (e.g., social work, psychology, childhood education),ย required.ย
Experience:ย
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the human services field required
- Experience working with families involved in child welfare, family preservation, visitation, or parenting support servicesย
- Experience working with multi-problem families and complex family systemsย
- Experience supervising staff, providing leadership, or serving in a lead role preferred
- Background supporting families with issues related to child abuse and neglect, child development, substance abuse, trauma, or family conflictย
- Demonstrated ability to connect families with community resources and support servicesย
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:ย
- Work is performed in a combination of office settings, client homes, and community environmentsย
- Services may be provided any day of the week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on family availability and program needsย
- Frequent travel within the community to provide services and attend meetingsย
- Use of personal vehicle for program-related travelย
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and drive for extended periods throughout the workdayย
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. of materials or suppliesย
- Exposure to emotionally sensitive and potentially high-stress family situationsย
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands in a fast-paced environmentย
- Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactionsย

Mandated Reporter Requirements:ย
- As a mandated reporter under Arizona statute A.R.S. ยง 13-3620, you are required to immediately report any suspected abuse or neglect of a minor to your Supervisor, Manager, Director, Clinical Director, or Chief Officer, who will assist in making the appropriate report to authorities.ย
- Reports should be directed to either the local law enforcement agency or child protective services (1-888-SOS-CHILD). Abuse suspected of involving a family member or legal guardian should be reported to child protective services, while other cases should be reported to law enforcement.ย
