About the Role
Laurel Ford is seeking an energetic and organized Parts Counter Person to join our team in Laurel, MS.
In this role, you will assist both retail customers and service technicians in finding, pulling, and ordering the correct OEM Ford and Kia parts and accessories. If you have a background in automotive parts sales, dealership service, or aftermarket auto parts sales, this is a great opportunity to build a long-term career with a well-established dealership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Customer & Technician Support: Assist retail counter customers, wholesale clients, and shop technicians in identifying and sourcing needed vehicle parts efficiently.
  • Parts Catalog Lookup: Use electronic parts catalogs (EPC) to look up part numbers, verify pricing, check availability, and place accurate orders.
  • Inventory Management: Pull parts from inventory, stock incoming shipments, handle backordered parts, and assist with inventory counts.
  • Order Processing: Create accurate invoices, process customer payments, and maintain detailed records of parts transactions.
  • Department Organization: Keep the parts counter, display areas, and inventory shelves clean, orderly, and well-organized.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in an automotive parts role (dealership parts counter, auto parts store, or wholesale parts supplier preferred).
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of automotive systems and mechanical components. Experience with Ford or Kia parts is a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Comfortable using electronic catalogs, inventory software, and dealership management systems (DMS).
  • Communication: Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong phone and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver auto parts up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record (Required).
  • Pre-Employment: Must be willing to undergo a standard background check and drug screening.
