Are you excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of human spaceflight? We are seeking a Human Spaceflight Systems Engineer, Mid to support mission-critical aerospace programs focused on advancing the next generation of crewed space exploration.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining strong technical depth with systems-level thinking-someone who can see both the details and the bigger mission. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate complex systems, solve challenging technical problems, and support technologies that directly contribute to human spaceflight initiatives.
From system architecture and integration planning to digital transformation and mission execution, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on programs pushing the boundaries of aerospace innovation. If you enjoy solving difficult engineering challenges and contributing to work that matters on a global scale, this is a chance to be part of something extraordinary.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support systems engineering and integration efforts for human spaceflight and advanced aerospace programs
  • Help design, integrate, and evolve complex systems involving hardware, software, and mission-critical components
  • Translate operational and mission requirements into scalable technical solutions and engineering specifications
  • Work across multiple engineering disciplines-including software, hardware, and ground systems-to ensure system compatibility and mission readiness
  • Identify technical gaps, integration challenges, and opportunities for improvement across interconnected systems
  • Drive technical problems through resolution while balancing engineering priorities, schedule considerations, and mission objectives
  • Support systems architecture development, interface planning, and technical design reviews
  • Participate in risk identification, root cause analysis, testing, deployment, and issue resolution
  • Contribute to digital engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) initiatives
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including requirements, interface control documents, and system architecture artifacts
  • Partner with senior leadership, engineering teams, and stakeholders to support successful mission outcomes

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or systems integration within space systems or aerospace environments
  • Experience integrating hardware, software, and technical components into larger systems or system-of-systems environments
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and programs
  • Ability to assess complex technical challenges and drive solutions to completion
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering fundamentals and integration planning
  • Ability to balance technical requirements with broader programmatic constraints
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Human Space Flight programs
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and managing program risks and technical issues
  • Experience supporting root cause analysis, validation, testing, and deployment across hardware, software, or ground systems
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in practical engineering environments
  • Experience developing technical specifications, interface control documents, and system architecture documentation
  • Experience using digital engineering tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect, IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS, or IBM Rhapsody
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively
  • Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Systems Engineering certification

Why This Opportunity
  • Work on programs directly supporting the future of human space exploration
  • Opportunity to contribute to highly visible, mission-driven aerospace initiatives
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams solving complex engineering challenges
  • Exposure to cutting-edge digital engineering and systems integration technologies
  • Long-term career growth in an innovative and rapidly evolving aerospace environment
  • Be part of work that supports real-world missions and helps define what's next in human spaceflight
