Summary:

The Product Manager acts as a strategic liaison between Landstar's business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure that proprietary and third-party system applications are optimized to support business operations. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of assigned products, from discovery and prioritization to testing, rollout, and ongoing enhancements.

Ideal candidates are analytical, organized, and effective communicators, capable of translating business needs into scalable solutions. The Product Manager will be central to driving continuous improvement and delivering value through product innovation, particularly in high-impact areas like freight visibility, tendering, and EDI integrations. This is a high-visibility role with impact across Landstar's operations. You'll contribute to building and refining digital tools that support one of the industry's leading logistics networks. You'll gain valuable exposure to cross-functional leadership, strategic product development, and large-scale system integrations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Act as the voice of the business within product teams, ensuring that solutions align with operational needs and strategic goals.
  • Own and manage product roadmaps, including backlog grooming and feature prioritization.
  • Define clear business requirements and acceptance criteria for new features and enhancements.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, and quality assurance for system updates.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with Operations, IT, and external partners to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Lead product demos and provide training to internal teams and end users.
  • Gather and analyze user feedback to inform product improvements and future development.
  • Monitor system performance and advocate for enhancements that drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support implementation of system changes and ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Regularly communicate product updates, timelines, and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership.

Required Minimum Experience and Education:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of experience in a product management, business analyst, or EDI within logistics or IT.

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • Public speaking or giving presentations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Agile or other iterative development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access).
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), EDI processes, or logistics software is a plus.
