Job description

The Dryer Technician's general function will be to perform moderately complex work related to the operation and maintenance of a sludge dryer system. This position is under general supervision.

This position works Monday through Thursday for 10 hours per day. Must be available for some weekends and emergency callouts. Essential Functions Operate dryer equipment and delivery systems.

Monitors and manipulates process variables. Complete chronological log and process worksheets. Compiles and enters process data and generates SCADA process reports.

Collects process control and regulatory compliance samples. Monitors biosolids storage distribution. Assist with deliveries and maintain equipment and spare parts inventory.

Maintains and cleans solids drying facilities and equipment. Ability to perform lab bench testing and perform preventative maintenance tasks and maintain equipment. Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational school education required; Two (2) years of related experience in mechanical or electrical repairs required; Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, charts and technical repair manuals, work from sketches, building plans, and follow oral and written instructions; Valid Class D driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required; Or any combination of education and experience that provides the candidates possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties prescribed to the position (above).

Supplemental Information PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Performs medium to heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, and digging Pushing and raising objects and also involves exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
