HIRING PRESCHOOL ASSISTANTS FOR LAKE AREA DISCOVERY CENTER IN WHITE BEAR LAKE

Lake Area Discovery Center (LADC) is hiring Preschool Assistant Teachers for full-time and part-time positions at the White Bear Lake Redeemer Lutheran Church and Community of Grace Lutheran Church.

Pay & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $19.00-$23.00/hour
Based on education, experience, qualifications, and assigned role.

Position Summary
Assistant Teachers work alongside Lead Teachers to create a warm, engaging, and safe classroom where children learn through exploration, play, and meaningful relationships.
Responsibilities include supporting daily classroom activities, supervising children, preparing learning materials, assisting with routines, communicating positively with families, and helping maintain a clean, organized classroom environment.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing engaging daily learning activities.
  • Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
  • Build caring relationships with children and families.
  • Supervise children while maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Assist with meals, outdoor play, transitions, toileting, and classroom routines.
  • Prepare classroom materials and learning centers.
  • Maintain classroom cleanliness and licensing standards.
  • Collaborate with Lead Teachers and the teaching team.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
  • Experience working with young children (childcare, preschool, nannying, camps, education, or related experience)
  • Early Childhood coursework, CDA, or related education preferred
  • Ability to meet Minnesota DHS Assistant Teacher qualifications (or willingness to obtain qualifications)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with young children

Schedule
We have year-round full-time and part-time opportunities available with flexible schedules depending on location, including:
  • Morning shifts
  • Afternoon shifts
  • Full-Day shifts

Salary Description
