Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Crane Operator role based in Stockdale, TX. The Crane Operator will operate cranes and related heavy lifting equipment to move, lift, and position materials and machinery according to project plans and safety requirements. Daily tasks include inspecting equipment before use, setting up cranes and rigging, following lift plans, communicating with ground crew via hand signals or radios, and documenting any incidents or equipment issues. The role involves working closely with rigging personnel, site supervisors, and other trades to complete lifts on schedule while maintaining strict safety standards. The Crane Operator is expected to follow company procedures, comply with all applicable regulations, and participate in ongoing training and equipment maintenance activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of lifting operations, including planning, executing, and monitoring lifts in various site conditions.
  • Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment, particularly mobile and stationary cranes, in construction or industrial settings.
  • Familiarity with lifting equipment such as rigging gear, slings, shackles, hooks, and related accessories, and the ability to select appropriate gear for each lift.
  • Ability to perform thorough inspections of cranes and lifting equipment to identify wear, defects, and safety issues before and after use.
  • Understanding of crane load charts, signaling methods, and safe operating practices under OSHA and relevant industry standards.
  • Valid crane operator certification or license (e.g., NCCCO or equivalent), and a clean driving record; CDL is preferred.
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work as part of a coordinated site team in changing field conditions.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors, stand for extended periods, and manage tasks in varying weather and site environments.
  • Prior experience in rigging, construction, oil and gas, or industrial projects is beneficial.
