Active & Humorous Tutor Needed for Family of Five

A busy family in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota is seeking an energetic, engaging, and creative tutor to support four boys and one girl, ages 6, 9, 10, 11, and 12.

We're looking for someone who can make learning fun while maintaining structure, consistency, and clear expectations. The ideal candidate is warm but firm, able to keep children focused, motivated, and engaged while creating a positive learning environment.

Position Details

• Location: Brooklyn Center, MN
• Start Date: Within 2–4 weeks
• Schedule: Monday-Wednesday-Friday
• Hours: 1–2 hours per day
• Compensation: $25–$50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Provide homework assistance and academic support
• Reinforce reading, writing, math, and study skills
• Create engaging and interactive learning activities
• Help children stay organized and develop effective study habits
• Encourage confidence, independence, and a love of learning
• Adapt instruction to meet the needs of multiple ages and learning styles
• Maintain a structured and productive learning environment
• Coordinate and collaborate with parents, nannies, teachers, tutors, therapists, coaches, and other approved professionals involved in supporting the children's educational and developmental needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education required
• Current Teaching License preferred
• Previous classroom teaching or tutoring experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Patient, dependable, and professional
• Energetic, engaging, and able to connect with children
• Able to maintain clear boundaries and consistent expectations
• Positive sense of humor and ability to build strong relationships with children
