ABOUT THIS ROLE

Little Kickers Swim School is not your average swim school — and this is not your average swim instructor job. We are a team of passionate, career-minded people who are changing what aquatics looks like. We run a five-tier instructor advancement system, with our top Tier 5 instructors earning up to $50/hour. From your very first shift, you are on a path to grow. We invest in you because we believe great swim instruction is a career, not a side job.

COMPENSATION & GROWTH

• Starting Pay: $25/hour from day one
• 60-Day Review: Opportunity to earn up to $32/hour based on performance 
• Bi-Annual Reviews: Structured reviews with a clear level system and transparent path for advancement

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS

Please do not apply if you do not meet all of the following:

• Comfort and confidence in the water — you must be a strong, capable swimmer
• Genuine passion for working with children from five months old through school age
• Comfort working independently with infants and young children — parents do not enter the water at Little Kickers, even with our youngest swimmers. You must be confident holding, supporting, and instructing babies and toddlers on your own
• Reliable, consistent availability — our kids build trust with their instructors and our families count on you being there
• Strong communication skills with both children and parents
• A career mindset — we are looking for people who want to grow with us, not just fill a shift

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Instruction — This Is the Heart of the Role

You will deliver private, one-on-one swim lessons to children ranging from five months old through swim team level. This is focused, intentional, high quality instruction that makes a real difference in a child's life. Parents cheer from the viewing gallery while you own the water. No parents in the pool. Ever. From day one, you are the one building trust, providing comfort, and creating a safe and joyful experience for every single child in your lane.

• Conduct engaging, structured private lessons for children of all ages and skill levels
• Independently support and instruct infants and young children without parents in the water — confidence with babies is a must
• Follow the Little Kickers curriculum and five-tier instructional framework
• Assess each swimmer and tailor instruction to meet them exactly where they are
• Provide real-time feedback and encouragement that builds genuine confidence
• Adapt your approach to accommodate different skill levels, learning paces, and abilities
• Create a fun, supportive environment where kids feel safe to try, fail, and grow

Safety and Supervision

Safety is non-negotiable. Full stop. Every child in your lane is your responsibility, and you treat it that way.

• Maintain constant vigilance and active supervision during every lesson
• Enforce safety rules, pool protocols, and emergency procedures without exception
• Ensure proper use of pool equipment and immediate response to any safety concern

Parent and Family Communication

Families trust us with their most precious people. Your communication after every lesson is a direct reflection of our world class standard.

• Provide consistent, meaningful updates to parents and guardians on their child's progress after every lesson
• Communicate achievements, areas for growth, and next steps with warmth and clarity
• Coordinate with fellow instructors, front of house staff, and management to ensure consistency across the team

Professional Development

We are building career-track instructors, not part-time pool staff. We expect that same investment back from you.

• Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and trainings
• Complete required certification courses and stay current on safety protocols
• Pursue advancement through our five-tier instructor system with the support of your Aquatics Director
• Embrace feedback, coaching, and continuous improvement as a core part of the job
