The Tax Manager (Region GM) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multiple high-performing tax preparation offices in the Knoxville area. This role executes long-term initiatives, delivers expert-level tax services to customers, and provides guidance and training to staff.

Compensation

$60,000-$70,000 per year + bonus

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and oversee staffing and scheduling, ensuring smooth workflow and consistent procedures.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience by maintaining a service‐focused atmosphere that welcomes clients, meets their needs, and encourages repeat business.
• Prepare tax returns and assist staff with technical and procedural questions to ensure compliant filings.
• Recruit and train staff, ensuring the team is well‐prepared, supported, and continuously developing the skills needed to deliver high-quality service.
• Execute long-term strategic initiatives set by ownership.
• Manage local marketing efforts and partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax preparation experience.
• 2+ years in roles with supervisory responsibilities.
• Bookkeeping and payroll experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and tax preparation software.
• Must be able to obtain a Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).

Schedule

Higher hour commitment (40-50 hours) during January-April tax season and leading up to October 15th deadline. Approximately 20-25 hours per week in the offseason (mid-April to September, mid-October through December).
