Position Purpose

The Middle School Tennis Coordinator leads the middle school tennis program in alignment with the mission and values of Liberty Christian School and the philosophy of the Athletic Department. This position is responsible for developing student-athletes both on and off the court while fostering a Christ-centered culture that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and character.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the middle school tennis program.
  • Plan and lead practices, matches, and team activities.
  • Instruct student-athletes in tennis fundamentals, strategy, conditioning, and sportsmanship.
  • Promote Christ-like character, leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and self-discipline.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and team events.
  • Collaborate with the Head Varsity Tennis Coach to ensure alignment of program philosophy and player development.
  • Assist with equipment inventory, uniforms, and facility organization.
  • Maintain communication with student-athletes, parents, and the Athletic Department.
  • Comply with all Athletic Department policies, TAPPS regulations, and the Student Protection Program (SPP).
  • Attend required meetings, professional development, and athletic events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of tennis techniques, rules, and player development.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor middle school student-athletes.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work collaboratively.
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and a Christ-centered athletic culture.Previous middle school or high school coaching experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Education andย Experience

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of tennis fundamentals and player development.
  • Previous coaching, teaching, or mentoring experience.
  • Ability to serve as a Christian role model consistent with the mission of Liberty Christian School.


Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Previous middle school or high school coaching experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
