Job description

About the Role:
Legacy SLS Inc is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in Burbank, CA. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities by providing personalized care and support. Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities
  • Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
  • Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and recreational outings
  • Administer medications and follow health and safety protocols as directed
  • Foster independence and skill-building through positive reinforcement and person-centered approaches
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members regarding client needs and progress
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience as a DSP, caregiver, home health aide, or in a related field preferred
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check and health screening
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and compassionate demeanor
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed
