Technical Fit Manager | Global Fashion Retailer | Onsite (Montreal-based) | Competitive Salary + 20%


The Company


They are an established apparel organization focused on delivering high-quality products across multiple fashion categories. Their teams collaborate closely across design, production, merchandising, and technical development to ensure consistency in fit, construction, and overall product excellence. With a strong emphasis on teamwork and operational efficiency, they are seeking an experienced technical professional to support the continued growth of their fit and technical design function.


The Role


The Technical Fit Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the fit and technical team while ensuring products consistently meet brand fit expectations and quality standards. Reporting into senior leadership within Technical Design, they will play a key role in coordinating workloads, leading fit sessions, and supporting cross-functional teams throughout the product development process.


This individual will work closely with internal partners and external vendors to maintain fit accuracy, streamline workflows, and uphold technical consistency across a broad assortment of apparel categories.



The Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of fit technicians at varying experience levels
  • Coordinate and maintain fit calendars, scheduling, and model availability
  • Distribute and prioritize workloads across the team to support seasonal timelines and business demands
  • Establish and refine fit specifications, grading standards, and technical consistency across multiple product categories
  • Conduct fit evaluations and communicate detailed fit comments and revisions to vendors and production partners
  • Collaborate with design, merchandising, and manufacturing teams throughout product development
  • Support technical execution across categories including denim, knitwear, tailoring, outerwear, and additional apparel classifications
  • Ensure garment construction, measurements, and fit standards align with brand expectations and production requirements


The Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience within the apparel industry in technical design, fit, or related functions
  • Previous leadership or team management experience considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in Fashion Design or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fitting techniques, grading, and pattern correction processes
  • Experience working with pattern-making and fit software such as PAD systems, LECTRA, or comparable platforms
  • Proficiency with Illustrator, Microsoft Office, Bamboo Rose, Centric, and related technical systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams while fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment
