The role

As a Claim Specialist II, working with our Komodo Claims Brand you will play a crucial role in handling and resolving commercial auto claims across the United States. Joining a friendly and highly supportive team, you will focus on delivering exceptional customer service at scale and ensuring accurate, compliant claims handling.

This role reports to a Team Leader and sits within a team of 20 specialists in the Komodo US department.

We have a hybrid working model. You'll work remotely, with regular training days in the Dallas office. Your working schedule will be Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What you'll do
  • Coverage Investigations: Handle initial coverage investigations to accurately identify claim exposures.

  • Liability Negotiations: Conduct thorough liability negotiations and set appropriate financial reserves.

  • Claims Processing: Manage vehicle repairs and total losses, issue payments, assign vendors, and send necessary referrals.

  • Policy Analysis: Interpret policy contracts to ensure accurate and compliant claims handling.

  • Advanced Claims Handling: Manage soft-tissue third-party injury claims.

What we're looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you have…

…these essentials to thrive in the role:

Essential

  • Texas Adjuster License: You currently hold an active Texas adjuster license.

  • Claims Experience: Handling coverage, liability investigations, and bodily injury claims in the personal or commercial auto space at a recognized insurance carrier to ensure foundational knowledge.

  • New York License Attainment: You are able to secure an insurance license in New York within 45 days of joining.

  • Adaptability: Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment to effectively manage a dynamic claims volume.

  • Customer Centricity: Demonstrate a proven track record of resolving customer concerns, understanding that excellent claims handling drives overall customer satisfaction and retention.

  • Team Collaboration: Understand the value of contributing to shared success and genuinely enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Career Dedication: Show a passion for building a long-term career in Claims, paired with a continuous thirst for knowledge.

AI in the hiring process

We also use AI tools to support our hiring process — not to make decisions, but to help us run a fairer, faster process. You can read more about how we approach that here, including tips for how you can use AI to prepare.

What to expect from the process
  • Screen: A 30-minute call with the Talent team. We'll cover the role, your background, and your questions.

  • First interview: A 60-minute video call with the Team Leader and People Partner covering technical skills and Team fit

We design this to be a two-way conversation. Come with questions — we want you to leave knowing whether this is the right move for you.

What we offer

We've also built a benefits package that invests in our people’s long-term personal and professional growth and wellbeing. Here’s a sample of what this includes;

  • Salary $65,000 - $68,000, depending on experience and location, plus stock options for every employee

  • 25 days of holiday (+5 days after 5 years), 5 sick days and 8 federal holidays

  • Medical, dental and vision health insurance plans

  • Life insurance, short-term, and long-term disability benefits

  • 13 weeks fully paid parental leave for all new parents, regardless of your gender

  • 401(k) with 4% company match

  • Commuter Benefits

  • Flexible working hours to fit your lifestyle

  • $650 annual training allowance & learning opportunities

  • $50 monthly wellbeing

  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Program and mental health benefits

  • Unlimited AI usage with Claude and Gemini

Working here

You'll do well here if you: 🚀 Move through ambiguity without waiting for a perfect brief

👊 Take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks

⚡ Adapt quickly when priorities shift, and help others do the same

🔧 Look for ways to improve how things work, not just how to complete them

🧠 Use tools, data, and colleagues to make better decisions

This probably isn't the right fit if you:

📋 Prefer clearly defined processes and a stable, slow-moving environment

🚧 Are most comfortable staying within the boundaries of your job description

🔄 Find frequent context-switching draining rather than energising

Inclusion and flexibility

INSHUR is committed to building a team where everyone can bring their full self to work. We follow a structured hiring process and train our interview teams to support fairness and reduce bias.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or age.

This role is advertised as full-time. We're open to discussing part-time, job-sharing, or other flexible arrangements for the right person.

If you need any adjustments during the process, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate.
