Role Description The Automotive Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Kirk’s Auto Solutions in Fort Mitchell, AL. This role involves performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, including brake, suspension, steering, drivetrain, and engine performance work. Day-to-day tasks include conducting thorough vehicle inspections, completing oil changes and fluid services, repairing cooling and A/C systems, and executing preventative maintenance according to shop standards. The technician documents findings, communicates recommended services clearly to service advisors or leadership, and follows established safety and quality procedures. The role also includes maintaining a clean, organized workspace, using diagnostic tools and service information systems, and collaborating with team members to meet customer and shop goals.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for a variety of makes and models.
  • Hands-on experience performing routine Oil Changes and related fluid services.
  • Proficiency in Automotive Repair, including diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Knowledge of Suspension systems and related components, including inspection and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret repair orders, service information, and technical manuals.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and ethical repair practices.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications (such as ASE) or formal automotive training preferred; prior experience as an automotive technician or mechanic is highly beneficial.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and ability to operate customer and shop vehicles.
