KCA is seeking a warm, energetic, and dedicated assistant preschool teacher to join our team. In this role, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment where our preschool-aged children can learn, grow, and thrive.

As a Preschool Assistant, you are the backbone of the classroom. You will support our Lead Teachers in executing creative lesson plans, managing the daily flow of activities, and ensuring every child feels seen and supported. Key Responsibilities

• Supportive Instruction: Assist in delivering play-based curriculum that prepares children socially and academically for their next big steps.
• Classroom Harmony: Help manage transitions, meal times, and outdoor play, ensuring a positive and organized environment.
• Child Safety & Engagement: Provide active supervision and engage directly with children during centers, crafts, and storytime.
• Team Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with the Lead Teacher to maintain a high standard of care and classroom cleanliness.
• Parent Interaction: Help provide parents with daily updates on their child’s progress and classroom adventures.
• Classroom Readiness: Actively assist in classroom cleaning, sanitizing, and organization throughout the day. Lead the preparation of the environment for the following class day to ensure a fresh, welcoming start for students.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED certificate required. Must provide proof of completion to meet state licensing standards.

• Professional Development: A CDA credential—or a willingness to obtain an employer-sponsored CDA—is highly encouraged. We support our team's growth through ongoing training and certification paths.

• Experience: At least one year of childcare experience. Candidates should be comfortable managing classroom transitions and engaging with children in a professional setting.

• Health & Safety: Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Ensuring a safe environment for all students is our top priority.

• Reliable Transportation: Must have a consistent and dependable means of getting to work on time. Prompt arrival is essential to maintain required teacher-to-child ratios.

• Dependability: A strong work ethic with a history of excellent attendance. Our students and staff rely on your consistent presence for a stable learning environment.

• Flexibility: The ability to adapt to changing classroom needs, schedule shifts, or varying age groups. A "team player" attitude is vital in our dynamic school setting.
