Skilled Carpenter / Wood Framer

Location: Varies by Project (Travel Required)
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM-2:30 PM

Compensation: $33.80-$35.00per hour, depending on experience

Position Overview

Key Staffing is seeking an experienced Skilled Carpenter / Wood Framer for a commercial construction company specializing in wood framing and rough carpentry. This position is ideal for candidates with strong commercial construction experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and traveling to project sites as needed.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform wood framing and rough carpentry on commercial construction projects
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
• Construct walls, roof systems, floor systems, sheathing, and other structural framing components
• Complete remodels, tenant improvements, and new commercial construction projects
• Safely use hand tools and power tools to complete framing and carpentry work
• Climb ladders, work on scaffolding, and perform physically demanding construction tasks
• Maintain a safe and organized work area while following all job site safety procedures
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to ensure projects remain on schedule

Qualifications

• Previous experience in wood framing and rough carpentry required
• Commercial construction experience required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong knowledge of framing methods, construction materials, and carpentry techniques
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and work at heights throughout the workday
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel for project assignments

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates seeking compensation toward the higher end of the pay range should possess additional experience and demonstrate the ability to:

• Communicate professionally with general contractors, superintendents, and inspectors
• Take on increased responsibility and leadership on job sites
• Work independently with minimal supervision

Travel Requirements

• Travel is required based on project location
• Current projects are located in San Diego
• Employees typically depart Monday morning and return Thursday
• Hotel accommodations are provided
• Employees receive a $35 per night per diem during overnight travel

Tools & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Employees are required to provide their own:

• Standard carpentry hand tools
• Hard hat
• Required personal protective equipment (PPE)
