  • Intent and Impact: Act with purpose to empower students, continually assess the impact of practices, and adjust as needed.
  • Cultural Context + Critical Thinking: Deliver rigorous, culturally responsive learning that pushes students to think critically and engage with their world.

  • Design formative and summative assessments; use data to refine instruction and interventions.
  • Maximize instructional time with urgency and purpose.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning profiles and keep all students engaged and challenged.
  • Deliver instruction with passion and a "whatever it takes" mindset to help students succeed.
  • Build strong, authentic relationships with students and model the school's PREP values (Perseverance, Results, Empathy, Passion).
  • Uphold consistent behavioral systems and school-wide expectations.
  • Embrace feedback, engage in continuous improvement, and take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.

Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Teaching experience or leadership in a high-performing charter, district, or independent school preferred.
  • Experience working with students in urban or public charter settings (student teaching, after-school, camps, etc.).
  • Eligible for or holding state teaching certification/licensure for middle school.
  • Deep commitment to Kauffman's mission and to closing the achievement gap.
  • Personal qualities: maturity, humility, strong work ethic, resilience, responsiveness to feedback, attention to detail, and entrepreneurial energy.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure and to act strategically while managing competing demands.
