ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac ICU - Full Time Night shift
Kansas Heart Hospital | Wichita, KS

Kansas Heart Hospital is a nationally recognized, physician-owned cardiac specialty hospital dedicated exclusively to the care of patients with heart and vascular disease. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

Position Summary
The ICU RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill cardiac patients, including post–open heart surgery, interventional cardiology, and complex cardiovascular cases. This role requires strong clinical judgment, advanced cardiac knowledge, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients

  • Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, cardiac rhythms, and advanced cardiac devices

  • Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage ventilators per protocol

  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery

  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and quality standards

Qualifications

  • Current RN license (Kansas or compact state)

  • BLS and ACLS required

  • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, vasoactive drips, and critical care protocols

  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
