Our client, a well-established electrical contractor, is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early to mid-career estimator with a strong background in commercial electrical construction who wants to be part of a stable organization with a collaborative culture and long-term growth potential.
The ideal candidate will have experience estimating commercial electrical projects, preparing competitive bids, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and working closely with operations throughout the preconstruction process.
Responsibilities
● Analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
● Perform quantity takeoffs for power distribution, lighting, controls, fire alarm, low-voltage, and related electrical systems.
● Solicit pricing from electrical suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
● Review RFIs, addenda, specifications, and bid documents throughout the bidding process.
● Prepare detailed labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
● Attend pre-bid meetings and project walkthroughs as required.
● Coordinate bid schedules, deadlines, and proposal submissions.
● Maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
● Participate in project turnover meetings with project management after successful bids.
● Assist in evaluating bid results and maintaining estimating records and historical pricing data.
Qualifications
● 5+ years of experience in electrical construction.
● Previous experience estimating commercial electrical construction projects.
● Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, labor productivity, and applicable electrical codes.
● Experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications.
● Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop competitive project estimates.
● Experience working with electrical estimating software and digital takeoff platforms.
● Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
Preferred Experience
● Background with a commercial electrical contractor or MEP contractor.
● Experience estimating commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, education, or government projects.
● Familiarity with design-build and negotiated work.
Compensation & Benefits
● Base salary: $100,000 - $120,000 (flexibility for the right candidate)
