    Heavy Maintenance Representative

The Heavy Maintenance Representative serves as Kalitta Air's on-site liaison and primary point of contact for all activities related to Heavy Maintenance Visits (HMV). This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work performed by third-party maintenance vendors on Kalitta aircraft to ensure all maintenance activities meet company, regulatory, and safety standards.

The Heavy Maintenance Representative ensures vendor performance aligns with Kalitta Air's expectations for quality, cost, schedule, and operational reliability. This includes continuous monitoring of vendor maintenance processes, facilitating communication between Kalitta Air and the maintenance provider, verifying compliance with maintenance programs, and supporting the timely return of aircraft to service.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    1. Provide long-term maintenance forecasts (6-12 months) to improve schedule adherence and assist Maintenance Providers with resource planning including labor, tooling, materials, and hangar space.
    2. Collaborate with maintenance providers to review, approve, and stabilize the visit work scope, minimizing late-stage changes.
    3. Coordinate with Kalitta Air Materials Department to ensure all routine materials and tooling are available prior to induction.
    4. Participate in pre-induction meetings to review the Check plan, establish milestones, and identify exceptions or special requirements.
    5. Ensure the Maintenance Provider delivers a detailed, milestone-based critical path plan that provides clear visibility into dependencies and deliverables.

    During Heavy Maintenance Visit:

    1. Serve as Kalitta Air's on-site representative for all matters related to Heavy Maintenance.
    2. Provide a management presence to ensure all decisions and actions taken by the maintenance provider are in the best interest of Kalitta Air.
    3. Facilitate coordination between the Maintenance Provider, Kalitta Engineering, and Materials Departments to ensure engineering authorizations (EAs) tooling, and parts are available as required.
    4. Oversee the Heavy Maintenance Provider to ensure compliance with all policies, practices, and procedures as defined in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM) technical data, documents, and directives.
    5. Monitor the Heavy Maintenance Provider's adherence to all contractual obligations.
    6. Ensure timely completion, closure, and accuracy of aircraft records, inspections, and documentation.
    7. Review invoices from the Heavy Maintenance Provider and verify that all costs are valid, accurate, and properly supported.
    8. Assist in the development and management of Heavy Maintenance Visit (HMV) plans and budgets.

    10. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Post-Visit Activities:

    1. Review milestone performance and capture lessons learned to drive process and performance improvements.
    2. Conduct post-check reviews with Maintenance Providers to verify the proper submission of all required documentation and invoices.
    3. Prepare and submit comprehensive post-visit reports to leadership, summarizing schedule adherence, cost performance, and quality outcomes.

Note: The Heavy Maintenance Representative may delegate assigned duties to qualified assistants; however, such delegation does not relieve the Representative of overall responsibility.
