Process Technician – Plastic Injection Molding

Location: Garland, TX

Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Pay: $26–$34/hour DOE

Position Summary

We are seeking a Process Technician to support a high-volume manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for optimizing and maintaining production processes, supporting production startups, troubleshooting process issues, and helping reduce product scrap.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform first-piece startup and process verification activities.
  • Complete process monitoring following mold, material, or insert changes.
  • Conduct process monitoring checks and document out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Respond to operator questions and concerns related to products and processes.
  • Complete assigned First Piece Approval activities.
  • Verify robot end-of-arm tooling and initiate robot programs or appropriate cam settings when needed.
  • Perform Bill of Materials (BOM) verification, part weight checks, and cycle-time verification.
  • Identify machine and tooling repair needs and initiate appropriate work orders.
  • Set up decorating equipment according to established process control specifications, as needed.
  • Participate in internal problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.
  • Attend shift pass-down meetings and provide detailed information during shift transitions.
  • Maintain strong communication with Die Setters, Supervisors, Operators, and Process Engineers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, or at least 3 months of related experience and/or training.
  • Previous plastic injection molding/process technician experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and process troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and proportions.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and system documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to actively participate in problem-solving and improvement activities.
Physical & Schedule Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work overtime during the week or weekends as needed.
  • Must be comfortable working in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Must follow all applicable safety policies and procedures.

Schedule

1st Shift: 6:45 AM – 3:05 PM

2nd Shift: 2:45 PM – 11:05 PM

3rd Shift: 10:45 PM – 7:05 AM

Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays depending on production.
