KC Low Voltage is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician Apprentice interested in starting a career in fire alarm and life safety systems. No prior experience is required - just reliability, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in learning a skilled trade.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in doing things right, and wants to learn from experienced leaders in the field. Apprentices will gain hands-on training while working alongside experienced technicians and foremen.

Hourly wage starts at $16.00 and up.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with installation of fire alarm panels, devices, and low voltage cabling.
• Learn to read drawings and follow installation plans under supervision.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of life safety systems.
• Maintain tools, materials, and organized work areas.
• Participate in ongoing training and certification development.
• Follow all OSHA safety procedures and company standards.
• Communicate professionally with team members and customers.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior fire alarm or low voltage experience required.
• Interest in construction, electrical work, or technology systems preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems.
• Ability to use basic hand tools (training provided).

Soft Skills:

• Positive attitude and strong reliability.
• Ability to work as part of a crew.
• Willingness to learn and accept coaching.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Regular bending, climbing, reaching, and walking.
• Work from ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
• Operate hand and power tools safely.

Other Requirements:

• Valid driver's license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexible availability including occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call support as needed.
