Professional Groomer

Location: K9 City Play n Stay – San Juan Capistrano, CA

Part-Time & Full-Time Openings

Responsibilities:

• Perform full grooming services including bathing, haircuts, trims, nail trims, ear cleaning, sanitary trims, and gland expression (if qualified).
• Safely handle dogs of various sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments.
• Monitor each dog's health and report any abnormalities, injuries, skin issues, or behavioral concerns.
• Clean and sanitize grooming tools, tubs, tables, kennels, and work areas throughout the day.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe grooming salon.
• Communicate professionally with pet parents regarding grooming requests and recommendations.
• Accurately document services provided and any observations.
• Assist with check-in and check-out of grooming appointments as needed

Qualifications

Professional Groomer: Training Required ~ Salon Experience great, not required

• Previous dog bathing or grooming experience preferred.
• Grooming certification is required
• Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and breeds.
• Knowledge of breed-specific grooming styles is preferred.
• Ability to recognize signs of stress, illness, or injury in dogs.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and safely restrain dogs when necessary.
