Job description

Position Title: PAI Clinic Coordinator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of Operations
Preferred Location: Anywhere within Justice North's service area
Work Arrangement: Hybrid/remote with required in-person work
Deadline to Apply: August 7, 2026
Justice North seeks a highly organized and mission-driven PAI Clinic Coordinator to support client access to civil legal services through our Private Attorney Involvement (PAI) program. This position plays a key role in supporting client intake for Pro Bono and Judicare services, coordinating PAI clinics, and helping recruit, engage, and retain volunteer attorneys.
The PAI Clinic Coordinator helps ensure that eligible clients receive timely referrals, resources, and services while also supporting the systems and relationships that make Justice North's volunteer attorney programs effective. This is a hybrid/remote position with required in-person work and travel within Justice North's service area.
About the Role
In this role, you will conduct intake for certain cases, assess matters referred to PAI for possible placement with volunteer or Judicare attorneys, coordinate administrative functions for PAI clinics and Self-Help Centers, track program metrics, and partner with the PAI team to strengthen volunteer recruitment and retention. You will also help maintain accurate program materials, monitor communication channels, and support continuous improvement of PAI processes with a focus on the client and volunteer experience.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct full intake for staff conflict cases and assess cases sent to PAI for placement with a Pro Bono or Judicare attorney.
  • Provide referrals or resources to clients when cases cannot be placed.
  • Manage administrative logistics for PAI clinics and Self-Help Centers, including scheduling, staffing coordination, open clinic spots, and related updates.
  • Track and maintain metrics related to PAI clinics and Self-Help Centers.
  • Identify and recruit potential volunteer attorneys, including for new or emerging areas of legal need.
  • Partner with the PAI team to support volunteer engagement, retention, recognition, training, and communications.
  • Update PAI forms, documentation, and templates to ensure accurate and current information.
  • Help monitor PAI communication channels, voicemail, and email to support timely responses.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, events, and access-to-justice initiatives.
  • Support special PAI projects and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income, immigrant, and vulnerable populations.
  • Paralegal certification or significant equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Experience coordinating volunteers, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and underserved communities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and sound independent judgment.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within Justice North's service area.
  • Experience working in rural or geographically dispersed communities is preferred but not required.

Our work is grounded in a commitment to dignity, equity, and practical legal support for people with limited resources.
