Job description

Jones Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced or highly motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Interventional Radiology (IR) Service. This is an outstanding opportunity for an APP who enjoys procedural medicine, collaborative practice, and building long-term relationships with patients and colleagues.
Position Highlights
  • Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule
  • No routine weekend or overnight responsibilities
  • Primary practice location at Jones Memorial Hospital
  • Occasional coverage at UR Medicine St. James Hospital, Noyes Hospital, or outpatient locations as departmental needs require
  • Work closely with fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologists
  • Opportunity for procedural training based on experience and demonstrated competency
  • Supportive, collaborative physician and APP team
  • Academic affiliation with University of Rochester Medicine

Position Responsibilities:
Working under the direction of the Attending Interventional Radiologist, the APP will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient clinical care, including:
  • Perform patient evaluations, consultations, follow-up visits, and daily rounds
  • Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations
  • Order, interpret, and coordinate appropriate diagnostic testing
  • Obtain informed consent and provide patient education
  • Participate in interventional procedures within approved scope of practice
  • Provide telemedicine services as appropriate
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Assist in the education and mentoring of students, new employees, and other learners through clinical teaching and knowledge sharing

Minimum Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner
  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license
  • Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification

Physician Assistant
  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current New York State Physician Assistant license
  • NCCPA certification
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Interventional Radiology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, or Hospital Medicine experience
  • Interest in procedural medicine
  • Radiologic Technologist (RT) license is welcomed but not required
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, patient-centered care, and continuous learning
