Job description

Jones Day is a global law firm with 40 offices in major centers of business and finance throughout the world. Covering 19 countries on five continents, our unique governance system fosters an unparalleled level of integration and contributes to our ranking as one of the best in the world in client service.

Jones Day seeks to employ the most qualified people, capable of delivering superior client service through professional excellence and teamwork, for every position in the Firm. We offer competitive compensation and benefits in a stimulating work environment.

Are you interested in the opportunity to work for a global leading law firm that will give you the experience and exposure you need to build your knowledge and skills as well as advance your career? If you are, then Jones Day may be the firm for you.

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Client Compliance Specialist contributes to Jones Day’s efforts to respond to client requirements and inquiries. The Specialist prepares responses to clients’ auditor inquiries; manages the documentation of client agreements (e.g., outside counsel guidelines; master service agreements), and coordinates responses to clients’ third-party vendor assessments and compliance surveys. The Specialist reports to the Client Compliance Manager and works across offices directly with attorneys and staff to coordinate the gathering and recording of information. The Specialist accomplishes these responsibilities by developing a comprehensive understanding of Jones Day’s policies and procedures as well as a basic understanding of legal matter lifecycle. The Specialist assists with the implementation of automated workflows and the development of digital libraries utilizing software such as Intapp and iManage.

The role requires a familiarity with several administrative functions, including billing, financial services, and new matter services. Also necessary is the ability to collaborate with a variety of attorneys and administrative professionals. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to proactively manage multiple projects at the same time; operate independently; and respond to changing deadlines and shifting priorities.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years of experience at large law firms working within Conflicts/New Matter Services preferred.
  • Position is well suited for individuals with a well-rounded understanding of legal administration, including matter lifecycle and billing/finance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite required.
  • Experience with Intapp software solutions or another automated workflow is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Document Management Systems (DMS), specifically iManage, preferred.

Jones Day offers competitive salaries and benefits to all employees. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The starting salary range for this Cleveland position is $70,000 - $80,000.
