Summary
About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Joint Fires and Effects Specialist (Targeteer) for the Operations Directorate - Cyberspace Operations Division in Miami, FL.

  • Provide expertise, capabilities, and supervision required to facilitate military decision-making processes to develop feasible courses of action.
  • Provide recommendations for engagement, coordination, synchronization, and employment of military and/or other elements of national
    power.
  • Facilitate the development and establishment of target execution functions and the development and maintenance of the Joint Integrated
    Prioritized Target List (JIPTL).
  • Lead the coordination of operational execution of assigned Joint, HQ USSOUTHCOM, and U.S. Government Inter-agency actions focused against
    priority threat networks and associated targets throughout the HQ USSOUTHCOM AOR.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance based on an SBI.
  • The incumbent must be eligible for and maintain approved access to Alternative Compartmented Control Measures (ACCM) programs.
  • This position is designated Tier 5, Special Sensitive, High Risk and the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access as a condition of employment.
  • In accordance with Change 3, AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, this position may require incumbent to successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85.
  • Signing of a DA Form 5019 acknowledging periodic random drug testing requirements is mandatory prior to being placed into this position.
  • Those individuals not currently occupying a TDP position must successfully complete a pre-appointment drug test prior to being placed into this position and periodically thereafter.
  • TDY will be required 25% or less of the time.
  • This position requires rotating shifts/ irregular shifts to support 24/7 operations during crisis/contingency operations and during certain exercise conditions, as directed by the SCJ3.
  • The incumbent may be required to remain on duty or report for duty during severe weather or other installation closings, as directed by the SCJ3.
  • Incumbent may be required to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays, and will be compensated within the scope/guidelines of government civilian employment.
  • Incumbent must perform occasional travel away from the normal duty station, and must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft, vessels, and/or vehicles.
  • Locations and environment may vary from U.S. facilities to remote, austere locations where hygienic facilities may be limited.
  • Force protection conditions will vary.
  • This position is designated as a key position.
  • Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations.
  • Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available.
  • All SCJ35 employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Facilitate military decision-making processes to develop feasible courses of action that limit and disrupt the effects of identified threat networks; 2). Conduct analytical reviews designed to resolve problems in support of agency partners; and 3). Coordinate the execution of fires to maximize effectiveness while minimizing the risk of collateral damage.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
